I grew up in Beeville, a small south Texas town and graduated from AC Jones High School. After graduation, I moved to Arlington and began working for GE Capital as my first "real" job. While working for GE, I enrolled at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service having been chosen to persue a career in funeral service.
After graduation I began working as an intern for a family owned funeral home in Austin, Texas. I transferred to another family owned business closer to my hometown that had shortly after my arrival been acquired by a funeral service conglomerate. As a funeral home manager for several locations, I ventured out on my own. I have been practicing for almost 20 years and created "Alternative Funeral Services" in the fall of 2002.
Not being from a generational funeral business gives me a unique view at the industry and a constant willingness to make it better for the clients we serve. I consider my calling in funeral service to be a precious gift that allows me to help families in my community during trying times.
